La Baie Verte Rowing Club (LBVRC) was established in 1988 as a non-profit corporation. The mission of the club is to provide opportunities to people of the community who want to learn and enjoy rowing. The club promotes sweep rowing and sculling, from beginning to advanced levels, from recreational to competitive racing. The club shares space with the St. Norbert College Crew Team, and the boathouse is located on the St. Norbert College campus in De Pere, Wisconsin
(near Green Bay) along the Fox River.
HOURS OF OPERATION:
A club steward needs to be present to open the boathouse.
ON-THE-WATER SEASON (from late March to early November):
Boat line-ups for the week are made in advance and sent to all club members by Sunday evening.
Novice Rowers:
Monday & Wednesday arrive at 5:30 AM to 7:00 AM
Saturday arrive at 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM.
Intermediate Rowers:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday arrive at 5:30 AM to 7:00 AM
Saturday arrive at 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM
Advanced Rowers:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday arrive at 5:30 AM to 7:00 AM
Rowers need to arrive at the boathouse on time so that they do not keep other crewmembers waiting.
The water temperature needs to be above 50 F in order to take out small boats (1x, 2x, 2-).
WINTER WORKOUTS (from mid November to early March):
Monday, Wednesday from 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM
During the month of May there is usually a weekend Learn to Row program. Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday mornings.
